Chair–based exercise is a seated, structured and progressive exercise program, which uses a chair to provide stability. This type of exercise program is a great option for seniors with limited mobility. According to The National Library of Medicine, chair-based exercise benefits several aspects of physical function in older adults. Balance, gait speed, grip strength and several other physical measurements were often documented as improved in individuals who engaged in chair-based exercise.
