Putting together a comedy night fundraiser is relatively easy and can be a lot of fun. You don’t need to hire professional comedians either. Having local citizens and community leaders doing their own stand-up routines could prove to be even funnier than listening to people who do comedy for a living. You could give out awards for the funniest routines, the routines that get the most boos, the most creative routines, etc.

See if you can get a local bar to host the event, and donate a portion of their food and drink proceeds to your organization. School auditoriums and movies theaters also work great as venues. Just be sure to have audio equipment available.

You can request a donation for entry into the event. Let your comedians in for free. You can also look for local businesses to help sponsor the event.

You’ll want to start promoting your comedy night fundraiser at least 2-months in advance (remember, that you will need to recruit your comedians as well). Be sure to promote heavily on all your social media channels. Also, create some fun and creative posters and flyers that you can place throughout the community.
