Since most of these paranormal investigations take place in old houses and old buildings, it’s likely that many of these footstep noises can be attributed to other natural occurrences, such as wood settling, pipes rumbling, mice and other furry creatures roaming through the walls and attics, etc.
But what about those instances that simply can’t be explained away? Are there really ghosts walking across the floorboards as if they had physical weight? Or could the sound of footsteps possibly be coming from a residual haunt where energy trapped within the building is just replaying itself over and over? As if it were recorded.
