The great thing about this type of fundraiser is that you can do it over and over again and people will be glad you did. Let’s face it, parents need a break every once in a while and having to pay a babysitter $10 to $20 per hour for a night out can get expensive. Although this is a great fundraising idea for schools and church groups, it can work well for other groups and organizations as well. All you need is a few responsible babysitters and there’s no reason why your “Parents Night Out” Babysitting Fundraiser can’t be a huge a success!
Of course, you’ll want to make this fundraising program fun for the kids. Have your volunteers set up a lot of fun and safe activities like face painting, arts and crafts, fun challenge games, etc. and have plenty of snacks available. Make sure you have all safety procedures in place. Charge $15 to $20 per kid for the night. Parents (and kids) will be begging you to do it again.
You’ll want to have parents sign a waiver, provide all contact information (including emergency contact information) and require them to be back to pick up their child by a certain specified time (6pm to 10 or 11pm would give parents enough time for a date night).
You’ll need to print up flyers and posters as well as start posting on social media at least 1-month prior to the event so the parents have enough time to plan their night out.
