This hilarious fundraising idea requires males to walk a mile wearing women’s heels! You can determine the heel height requirements. Although the idea is to get men to walk a mile, it’s doubtful that it will be accomplished, so you can set the target at 1-mile and see who can actually make it the farthest in the fastest time without injury. Just remind your male volunteers that it’s all for fun and for a good cause. And promise that you will not post images of them in heels on Instagram or Facebook (although we encourage you to do so unless they pay you a fee not to).
The best way to earn revenue from this type of fundraiser is to have the male participants find sponsors who will donate a certain amount of money for every 100 or so yards walked in heels. There’s 1,760 yards in a mile, so if a participant sells 10 full sponsorships at $2 for every 100 yards and they complete the distance, you make $2 x 18 x 10 = $360 off of the 1 walker. Just round-up the last 60 yards to make it 18-sets of 100 yards.
This could make for a very exciting event, assuming you can find enough brave men to take on the task. Just organize the event like a fun run and be sure you have many cameras available. You can even have fun t-shirts printed up for the participants.
You’ll want to start promoting this fundraiser at least 3-months in advance of the event. Create a sign up form on your website and be sure to promote heavily on all your social media channels. Also, create posters and flyers that you can place throughout the community. Check out Goodwill for some cheap shoes. You will need some large sizes.
