What is a REM Pod and What Does it Do?

If you’re a fan of paranormal investigation shows, you’ve likely seen investigators using a device called a REM Pod (radiating electromagnetism pod). REM Pods are circular shaped electronic devices with a 360 degree antenna that sounds an alarm or beeps when it detects any changes in the surrounding magnetic field. It also emits an LED light.

Unlike most EMF Meters, REM pods radiate their own electromagnetic field, making it easier for ghosts and spirits to communicate.

Some REM Pods also come with Ambient Temperature Deviation Detection (ATDD). If the temperature surrounding the REM-POD noticeably increases or decreases, the REM-POD will alert you.

The theory goes, that if a spirit moves near the device, it will go off. Ghost hunters and paranormal investigators use REM Pods to alert them to the presence of a spirit in the room being investigated. You may also hear investigators asking spirits to move toward the device in order to make the presence of the spirit known.

REM Pods do work, and some work quite well. Most paranormal investigators consider these devices to be an important part of their ghost hunting arsenal. Keep in mind however, anything that is a conductor of energy can set the device off when in close proximity. This goes for the human body as well, so make sure that nothing and nobody is near the device when conducting your ghost hunt. This includes electronic devices like cell phones.

If you do decide to invest in a REM Pod and it goes off during your investigation, it might be a good time to conduct an EVP session. Who knows, you may just have a real ghost on your hands.
