Fun Activities For Seniors
Staying active is the key to a healthy life!
Yoga for Seniors
Believe it or not, yoga isn’t exclusive to flexible women in their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s hanging out at the yoga studio after work. In fact, the practice of yoga appeals to both women and men of all ages. A large survey recently indicated that 38% of yoga practitioners are age 50 or older. That’s a lot of senior-level, older adult stretching!

Reduce Stress and Anxiety
Yoga is a great way for active seniors to help bring some positive energy into their daily lives. According to The National Library of Medicine, practicing yoga can help enhance muscular strength and body flexibility, promote and improve respiratory and cardiovascular function, promote recovery from and treatment of addiction, reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, improve sleep patterns, and enhance overall well-being and quality of life. And best of all, you don’t need a lot of specialized equipment to get started.
The instructional videos listed below are a great way to introduce yourself to the practice of gentle yoga. Consult with your physician before beginning any exercise.
